2023 CSHA California Healthcare Law Essentials
Renaissance Esmeralda Resort & Spa, Indian Wells
May 4, 2023
Renaissance Esmeralda Resort & Spa
CSHA is pleased to announce that on May 4, 2023, it will reprise its day-long course designed for healthcare attorneys in their first five years of practice – California Healthcare Law Essentials.
First held in 2022, Essentials focuses on the parts of California law that differ from or go beyond national trends in healthcare law. This material is often not taught in law school courses – but knowledge of these fundamental topics is usually assumed in many other CSHA educational presentations. The faculty are seasoned experts in the fields they are presenting and teaching.
Participants in last year’s Essentials said:
- “This was super beneficial!”
- “The topics chosen are the key ones … excellent.”
- “Learned a lot of valuable information that I didn’t know in my first year of practice.”
- “This covered the foundations perfectly.”
To participate in Essentials this year, you must be (1) a current or new member of CSHA; (2) have practiced for no more than five years (or be new to the practice of California healthcare law in 2023); and (3) be willing to both review the course materials before May 4, 2023, and come prepared for an intensive, interactive learning experience about California healthcare law.
Essentials will be held at the same location as the CSHA Annual Meeting & Spring Seminar (Renaissance Esmeralda Resort & Spa, Indian Wells), and participants are encouraged to register for that event as well.

Hotel Information
The Palm Springs area has a variety of experiences to explore – from a national park (Joshua Tree) and an aerial tramway up to coolness, hiking, and views in the San Jacinto Mountains to classic mid-century art and architecture available on exhibit and tours. Or grab some sunscreen, rent a bike or a dune buggy, and head out to explore. Indian Wells lies between the cities of Palm Desert and La Quinta—just a 20-minute drive from the Palm Springs International Airport.
CSHA has reserved a limited number of rooms at the Renaissance Esmeralda Resort & Spa starting at a nightly rate of $294, plus resort fee and tax. Contracted discounted rates will be available up to three days before and after our conference dates – so you can relax and explore the Palm Springs area.
To make your reservation, call the hotel at (800) 446-9875 and ask for the California Society for Healthcare Attorneys (CSHA 2023 spring seminar) group rate or book online through the Renaissance Esmeralda Resort & Spa website (Please do not use the regular Renaissance Esmeralda Resort website or other hotel booking sites to make your reservation; the only way to access the special CSHA reduced rate is through our group’s unique reservation link above.) The deadline for obtaining the discounted rate is April 7, 2023 – but book early because our “block” usually sells out.
