In CSHA committees, members come together to share knowledge in
meaningful ways. CSHA committees are responsible for the content
of all CSHA publications and events and offer valuable leadership
opportunities to CSHA members.
The Education Committee participates in the development and
administration of CSHA’s educational programs, including a
three-day program each Spring and a one-day program each Fall.
Committee members participate in all aspects of program planning
including topic selection, arranging speakers and planning
program social events.
The Publications Committee oversees the publication of
California Health Law News. Committee members are
involved in topic and author identification, as well
as editing.
The Membership Committee seeks to increase the size and diversity
of CSHA membership and expand member benefits. Additionally, the
Committee administers the Law Student Mentor Program, advocates
for CSHA members, develops membership questionnaires and responds
to member questions and requests.
The Hearing Officer Committee develops educational programs and
other resources intended to increase the number of California
attorneys with the requisite expertise to preside over medical
staff peer review hearings. The Committee establishes the
criteria for listing qualified attorneys on two hearing officer
lists on the CSHA website — the Completed Hearings List and the
General List — and screens applicants for each list.
