On Wednesday, January 25, Lisa Matsubara, general counsel of the Planned Parenthood Affiliates of California, and Andrea Frey of Hooper, Lundy & Bookman discussed the implications of the Dobbs decision on individual health care providers, including physicians, NPs, and more, who practice in California’s clinics, emergency rooms, and other settings, including by telehealth. Lisa and Andrea will cover topics including licensure and scope of practice, telehealth, and privacy.

On Wednesday, February 1, Julia Michael, senior counsel at Kaiser Foundations Health Plan, Inc. and Hospitals, and Alicia Macklin and Catherine Wicker of Hooper, Lundy & Bookman will discuss the effects of the Dobbs decision on hospitals and other health care facilities, focusing on the developing case law around EMTALA’s intersection with state laws regulating abortion access as well as implications of changing abortion rules for medical staffs in California.
In both sessions, our presenters will provide the latest updates on how the Dobbs decision has affected health care within and outside California and introduce the audience to the challenges of navigating an entirely new area of regulation.
