Salem & Green, A Professional Corporation (“S&G”), is a boutique law firm in Sacramento, California, that specializes in healthcare (business and regulatory), mergers and acquisitions/dispositions and securities. S&G commenced operations in August 1999.
S&G is looking for an experienced attorney to complement our existing practice. The ideal candidate will be licensed to practice in California and have practiced in one or more of the following areas for at least one year (or have a demonstrated interest in healthcare law, particularly in our practice areas):
- Healthcare regulatory (Stark, fraud and abuse, reimbursement-related issues, licensing and enrollment); and/or
- Transactional business law (mergers and acquisitions/ dispositions, securities, tax or other business transactions).
S&G offers a qualified candidate a sophisticated law practice representing regional hospital systems, other hospitals, home healthcare agencies, ambulatory care providers, medical foundations, healthcare management companies, physicians and physician groups, a large privately-owned real estate company and other traditional business and healthcare clients. S&G strives to maintain attorney staffing levels that enable its attorneys to practice cutting edge law and staff mergers & acquisitions transactions for sophisticated clients while maintaining commitments to family and personal matters, vacation plans and school events.
S&G envisions that the position would be ideal for an attorney who has practiced in a national or regional firm, who is looking to balance a high quality legal practice with a personal or family life. For the right candidate, S&G would be willing to train a junior attorney who has a demonstrated interest in practicing healthcare law.
S&G provides a collegial working group with deep expertise, excellent clients and a strong support staff (i.e., secretarial, billing, etc.). S&G could also be ideal for a lateral partner who is currently practicing solo in a compatible niche and desires colleagues, vacation coverage, and freedom from the administrative burdens of running a solo-office. Compensation Negotiable.
Salary/bonus for associate/of-counsel commensurate with experience and billable hours, although S&G believes that its compensation is competitive with regional firms, and when adjusted for our moderate billable hour requirements, with national firms.

Currently, employees receive 100% employer-paid health and dental coverage for employees (spouse and dependents subject to monthly cap) (additional cash compensation for employees who opt out of coverage by taking group coverage through a spouse/partner), including domestic partner benefits, life insurance, disability coverage, vacation and sick time allowances, bereavement leave and paid holidays; employer-funded contributions to a profit sharing plan (currently at least 16.8% of W-2 income after a 12-month waiting period, with semi-annual entry periods and subject to a two-year vesting requirement).
